Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring with me?
We recommend that you dress for the season and wear athletic shoes or boots. You'll need to bring a flashlight if you're coming in the late afternoon or evening hours. It's also a great idea to bring a camera. Visitors tell us some of their favorite fall snapshots were taken during their visit to Kelley Farms.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Kelley Farms accepts cash and most major credit cards. Personal checks are no longer accepted. (Farm Admission applies to all visitors, ages 3 and up.)

Can I drop my kids off to play?
No. Visitors under the age of 16 are not permitted on Kelley Farms property without an adult chaperone. Visitors under the age of 14 must be accompanied inside the Giant Corn Maze at all times. Farm Admission applies to all visitors, ages 3 and up.

Can I bring my dog?
Pets are not permitted at Kelley Farms, with the exception of service dogs.

Will you be open if it rains?
We may be. A light rain doesn't usually affect us, however the farm may close during or after heavy rains or other inclement weather. Please visit www.Facebook.com/LexingtonCornMaze for the latest weather updates.

Do you have food and drink available for purchase?
Yes! We offer a great selection of food, drink and dessert items. Whether you're looking for a BBQ sandwich dinner plate, hot dog, funnel cake or warm apple cider, we've got a little something for everyone. Prices vary.

How big is the Giant Corn Maze?
Our cornfield covers 10 acres of land and features two mazes, one for beginners and another for more advanced explorers. There are corn mazes in most states across the U.S., most of them ranging in size from 3 to 12 acres. The "just right" size is about 8-10 acres - big enough to get lost and have a great time, but not so big that it becomes a chore to hike your way through.

How long does it take to get through the maze?
It all depends on the number of wrong turns you take. The average person will finish their maze experience in about an hour. Some take longer; others finish more quickly. If you have good map-reading skills, you should be able to find your way out - eventually!

How do you create the Giant Corn Maze?
We carefully select our design months in advance and draw it out on paper. We plant the corn in the field and Corn Maze Master Jack marks the area out by hand, cutting away what he doesn't need until it matches the drawing on paper. We do NOT use GPS devices - that's cheating. It's all simple mathematics!

What happens to the corn after the maze closes?
After the season is over, we harvest the corn and use it to feed the animals.

Do you offer refunds if it rains during my visit?
No, but you can check with the admissions tent before you leave to see if “rain tickets” are being offered, allowing you to return on a future date during the season.

Do you have restrooms?
Yes. We offer portable restrooms at the farm, along with hand sanitizing stations.

Is the farm handicap accessible?
Our farm is a working farm and the Giant Corn Maze is on unpaved farmland. While wheel chairs, strollers and wagons are certainly welcome at the farm, we urge you to use caution when considering whether to take them inside the maze. Like any farm, the paths can be bumpy.
